In Estonia, Jiggling and Bog-Trekking

23 August 2010

Before us was a pleasant enough expanse of forest and meadow near the coast of Estonia. Lazy breeze, piney scents, distant chirping. A decent place for an afternoon stroll with the family.

Then we took our first steps off the walkway and onto the bog that surrounded us. Whoa.

The ground wobbled like soft pudding, as if we were in a fun house attraction. Our arms flapped as we tried to maintain our balance. Giggles all around.
